Post subject:  My Chronomat GMT story

So today I made the leap. I finally ordered my B04 Chronomat GMT. This story goes back to when the present Chronomat came out. I had just bought a Cockpit great time piece but not the Chronomat. I started to drool over this time piece then the B04 GMT came out and it had me really wanting it. Then the Made to Measure tool was available... I have configured every variation of the GMT you can. I tried on the 47mm, it was to big, the 44mm fit wonderfully.
Finally I nailed down what I wanted. Steel case, blue dial with silver sub dials, croc band in blue with the deployant buckle... I waited and waited. Then I had the opportunity to go to the boutique in LV. Talk about a kid in a candy store.. Then I saw it my perfect watch was there..I tried it on. So nice..
They tried talking me into buying right there... I couldn't do it. They even went as far as offering me the leather jacket with nylon sleeves. I looked good in it...LOL Still would have to pay retail to buy there.

I didn't need the jacket as nice as it was. I went back home and assessed my watch collection. I had my Cockpit that I had not worn in nearly a year and another piece that just sits.. Today I took them to the local dealers and started to get prices on trade in for the GMT. I nailed down a deal that I could live with and as of today my GMT is on order. It will be 5-6 weeks before I see it as there are none in the distributors at this time.

so.. Woot a new Chronomat GMT is on the way YAY..

Incoming pictures below, it arrived on 28 October YAY

Congrats! I just waited 4 weeks for a Rolex DSSD, and let me tell you it was worth the wait. It made it that much better when it finally arrived. Time flies by and before you know it you will have your shiny new GMT!

That's a long wait time. I know my AD has several of this combination in stock right now.

My saga continues but the end I think is near.
The AD called me letting me know that the watch made it in however it was not per my order. It arrived at the stores HQ with a metal bracelet. Mine is supposed to have a Croc band. The local store has a Croc band so the main store is forwarding the piece on to my AD.
However, the watch is now lost by UPS when the main store sent it to my AD... ARG...I'm sure it will turn up next week but man does this get anoying....

Funny you say that, I was thinking that very thing. Going to see if the AD will discount it to me for all the crap I've been going through LOL
