Just wanted to share my first Breitling with you guys. To put it briefly, I fell in love with the Navitimer series some 7 to 8 years ago. Hadn't really noticed luxury watches before this, but then it just happened: I knew that I had found my grail watch! I also knew that I wanted something a bit special, some extra complication, so it stood between the Cosmonaut, Olympus and Datora.
I soon had my heart set on a Datora. I love the busy dial!

Well, after a lot of surfing, lurking and AD visits, I finally have the watch I always wanted! I got it second hand, so it is from 2006, but it is in perfect condition, holds good time and has a good power reserve. When I had it tested at my local watch shop, it was 2 seconds slow and its amplitude was superb. Moreover I must say that I do not personally like the recently updated Datora dial, I think the hands are better on this older version, as is the dial with its red 1/100th markings.

It came with a black calf and buckle, but I wanted to try something different. Now in the humid summer months I have it on a Hirsch George strap and a RHD deployant. I love the combination.

Looks like the previous owner had kept good care of the watch, no scratches to speak of. That is more than can be said about me... You can imagine the feeling when I realized that I had dinged the bezel after just two weeks :(

I am very careful and protective with my belongings (some might even see some OCD tendencies here), but what can I do, things happen and I am surprisingly OK with it. I try to find comfort in the fact that I collected the scratch on our honeymoon (I got married a few months ago) and that it now is a part of the watch's history.

:lingsrock:

A thread is nothing without pictures, here are some from today:

Looks fantastic! The brown strap really sets of the red on the dial well.

Congratulations on the wedding and the new Breitling. Now go make up an exciting and memorable story of how you scratched your watch on your honeymoon!!
