I'm considering picking up a Cockpit, and I'm leaning towards a black dial. The question I can't seem to answer is this: does the black dial have the concentric circle/bullseye design that the other dials have (ie. slate gray or white)? The pictures I've found online don't really show this design, and they look as if it's just a black dial with no pattern. None of my local dealers have one with a black dial, so I can't even look at one in person.

Also, does anyone have pictures of their own?

EDIT: To clarify, this question is regarding the previous version of the Cockpit!

Thanks!

Firstly, great choice, I love my new cockpit! I think Roffensian has a black old style dial cockpit, hopefully he will be able to post a picture! I think all the old dial cockpits are concentric ringed.

Here is a shot of my new dial, it is the silvery white and looks fantastic I think!

Wow looks great, definitely would like to see the new Cockpit dial in black if anyone has pics!

And to clarify, yes the question is regarding to the older model Cockpits.

Try this link to the Breitling Japan website:

You can clearly see that the black dial is the same as the others in the new model.
I think the black looks great on both the older and new models. I saw the older one yesterday at my AD. It actually had a leather strap on it, kind of a golden brown, and really looked outstanding with the black dial. It also brought the price down to about $3200. as it didn't have the steel pilot bracelet which, although outstanding, is wore over a grand just by itself.
Cheers,
Carl

Thanks for the link, but is there anyway to see the older model dial? I only see the newer version of the Cockpit on there. The previous version had the concentric circles on the face...

Not sure if you are interisted but the Watchseller.com has a 4 mo old used Cockpit with a charcoal dial. I have purchased watches from them in the past and have always recieved a quality product with the promised papers and Warranty. Good luck,

The black dial does indeed have the concentric circles, although my photography doesn't exactly make it clear!

Thanks, that's what I needed to know! Comparing the new Cockpit to the older design, now I have to make a choice which design I like more...the newer one looks nice but the dial is almost a complete change in style.

Here's one more pic of the older style that a member sent me where you can just barely see the circles as well:

Personally I'd go with the new style. The dual date window along makes it different to anything else around.
