Are sky racers a good breitling to buy? |

I think so. Depending on where you buy determines the price you pay, obviously. They are a great watch and because they are a similar size to a typical navi they will suit more wrist sizes. I avoided the rubber bezel version and headed straight for an earlier s/s. I am very happy with my buy. My wife thinks it's the best Breitling I could own. All a matter if taste though. |

I really like the Skyracer design, would even consider the rubber bezel Raven model for a sportier look. The black-eye-blue dial is very nice looking. Dials are a bit busy so have like that about them. |

Anything is good granted you like it. |

Valid points for sure, it's either a sky racer or Rolex sub ![]() |

The Skyracer was never the most popular Breitling (probably because it was quite expensive, relatively speaking), but that doesn't mean it's a bad model. Far from it in fact. Plus the relative rarity means you won't see too many about, so if you like the style (which I personally do), then yes it's a good buy IMO. As P51 said, I too would avoid the rubber bezel version as it "cheapens" the look IMO, but that aside it's a good watch. |

I have a choice out of the sky racer and a Rolex sub, hard decision |

As big of a Breitling enthusiast I am, I'd go for the Sub in this case. I mean, Skyracer vs Sub.... Would have been different if you could choose between a Sub and a Navi or TOC or Chronomat. |

One word, SUBMARINER, especially if you are looking at a newer ceramic model! |

So unsure, sky racer is lovely , love how shiny and looks expensive , how ever will this last if I'm on holiday wearing it in the sea and swimming pools and wearing it every day?? As the sub is more robust ... It's a non ceramic 2001 version! Help ! |

I've never had a problem with my breitling in the ocean, as long as the crown is screwed down. |
