Post subject:  Breitling Titanium refinish
Hello,
I have a Titanium Aerospace and Chrono Avenger M1 that have been serviced within the last two years, but would like the case and bracelet refinished again as they are daily wearers. Anybody know someone other than BUSA that can refinish to spec? I would rather not be without them for 6-8 weeks

You would be amazed how easy it is to refinish titanium bracelets and most of the case yourself with a few simple tools like 1500 to 12000 grit pads available through Lee Valley for about $12.00 and possibly some 1000 to 2500 grit wet dry sandpaper. I have found some good jewellers can do a pretty good job if you are specific as to what you want done and how far you want them to go for deeper scratches.

I appreciate the DIY advice, but I would rather have a more even, machine applied finish. I have seen the hand-finished results using the various abrasive pads available. While they are acceptable from a arms length away, they typically are more uneven and thus reflect light differently. I have always taken pride and great care of the 13 Breitlings I own, and just want them restored correctly. Unless one of the forum members has someone in the USA that they have had great results with, I guess they have to go back to BUSA ;(

Any capable watch repair shop should be able to refinish titanium. Jut call around some if your local shops and ask.

:yeahthat ......although just be careful how they do it. Breitling will refinish a case once the movement is removed, so it won't be subject to the vibrations that machine polishing/brushing will otherwise subject it to.

(And in terms of DIY refinishing, it all depends how skilled you are!)
