Post subject:  Chronospace love.

Hi all, picked this up a few days ago, and has been on my 'must have' lists for a few months now. It's so nice I can't stop looking at it from various angles on the wrist, sad I know.
It sits nicely on my wrist, and although I like my watches quite tight it amazingly is the better wristfit than my my SO44. I also really love the bezel, it's quite aggressive with those enhanced notches/points, makes the overall look really toolish IMO.

The 'tri-compax' dial layout is always nice to have, with the wonderful concentric rings on the sub-dials. I have chosen the Arabic numerals over the 'square' indices, because it's more in keeping with some of the Navitimer iterations from the past, having said that, I really do like the '12' with squares though, tough choice for me.
Getting back to case size at 46mm this is no shrinking violet, it really is a substantial watch-head, but in spite of my 7-1/4 inch wrist size it wears perfectly IMO with the new-ish ProIII bracelet in view from 12 & 6 positions on my 'average' sized wrist. So for me, there is no ungainly lug overhang making the watch 'clockish' on my wrist.

The winding crown is amazing in that it is so much smoother & and takes a few more revolutions to screw-down than my SO. The small 'pump' pushers 'a la Navitimer' suit the watch well, SO44 screw-down chrono' buttons would, I think, be a bit OTT in spite of the heads overall diameter.

One would have to consider in this instance the crucial aspect of pressure proofness. As much as I love the Navitimer, & I
really do, I think for me personally the 200mts resistance is a big bonus, a little peace of mind, if you like to do a bit of exploring, it just takes that little bit of worry of your mind.

Finally, the bracelet, as I have said above, it's the newish ProIII, wider center links giving a more 'oyster' look, but no bad thing IMO. With the taper from 24mm to 22 it is beautifully balanced for a watch of this size, a 24 straight through would have looked a bit unsubtle & chunky for sure.

To finish, I have to say I'm quite disappointed that there's no 'piano' black bakelite box anymore, just, as many of you will know, a very workmanlike rivetted cardboard box, but that's progress.....(money saving).....but never mind, we don't wear the box do we.

The watch...

P.S. this example is keeping about plus 3 secs a day, so very happy with that.
Cheers.

Great review, thanks for sharing! The watch looks really sharp. Personally I think screw down pushers would suit it very well. The arabic numbers are glowing in the dark, aren't they? A night shot would be cool to see. Enjoy your watch! :)

I like this one very much. It's very deep & I had not noticed it before but, it has a layered hunkered down appearance. I think this is so different in the Breitling range. Thank you for sharing.

Love it!
Some call it "tool watch", with that aggressive looking bezel I call it a "man's watch".
Unfortunately I have a girl's wrist :-(
Tried the Quartz and the auto version several times but unfortunately too big for me no matter how hard I try to convince myself :-(

I think that's one of the sharpest Breitling designs I've ever seen. Love it!

Thanks guys for all your positive comments, but there must be someone out there who doesn't like this?(LOL)
Anyway, can't seem to tear this off my wrist at the moment, & my SO44 is languishing in the watchbox feeling very much 'unloved' at the moment.
Still keeping time at plus 3 secs per 24 hrs. All good.
Cheers.

Very nice!!

I went back and forth between this and the quartz one. I ended up with the quartz one, but still really like this. The bezel on both is awesome!

Pictures do it no justice.
