Hey everyone, I have the pleasure of getting a new Ling this week as my folks are on vacation in St. Maarten and things are nearly if not completely tax free down there. Anyway theres a great AD whom we've dealt with in the past so thats no issue, my conflict is I'm leaning towards a Chronomat evolution in 2 tone with white face but cant decide between the gold/silver band or a brown croco band. I also have a black/mesh SOH 46 and a Rolex datejust in blue, which means I have nothing with a leather band but im unsure of how well they hold up over time and how versatile they are...any input is greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks!

Well bracelet will obviously hold up better than a strap, but if you put the strap on a deployant it will significantly extend the life. I think that the Chronomat (technically not Evolution anymore, the name reverted) looks very good on croc and with a white dial I think that a little more colour than a TT bracelet would give you is a good thing - the white / brown combo is a good look.

That said, if at some point you are thinking about getting bracelet and strap then I would get the bracelet first as it is the more expected and you will get a better discount on what you buy with the watch than what you buy afterwards.

Thats actually a very good point and I will think about that for sure!

Not sure where my brain is today - more expensive obviously, not more expected!

Ah, but maybe your subconscious spoke - you do expect the bracelet over the strap. ;)
