I'm about to buy an Avenger GMT black dial (stencil numerals). The AD is offering a great deal with a nice discount and I'll be getting it on a black Pro-3 rubber strap with push button clasp (I'm not a fan of bracelets - especially polished). As part of the deal I can get another rubber strap with a tang buckle for only £22. I already have a new black pro-1, I'll then have a black pro-3 too. Should my third 'cheap' strap be a blue pro-3 to be a bit different? Would a blue strap go with a black dial as in picture 2? It would certainly give a casual summer time option. I thought about a black pro-2 (pic 3), but the plain style and lack of BREITLING text makes it a bit dull in my eyes (I'm a big fan of BREITING text on the rubber straps), plus I'll have two black straps already. So do you think the blue pro-3 works with the black dial, it is very cheap afterall. Attachment: gmt choices.jpg

No written rule as to what strap goes with which dial. It only matters if you like it. I like the black blue combination. And I think it is good to have variety in a collection. So I would certainly go for the blue. |

Since you ask I don't think black on blue works at all. [I think pic 1 is the best there.] But as metalheart rightly says, what matters is what you like. |

Something that might not be obvious until you size it is that the Pro 3 strap on deployant won't read BREITLING. After cutting mine to fit and mounting it on the clasp it reads BREITL. I think that the black dial on blue strap clashes. If bracelet isn't an option, I'd also consider the leather/rubber SuperOcean straps w/ accent colors. The black/red strap would look good with the black dial and red GMT hand. |
