I was at my uk ad today, cs-bedford in ruislip and literally as I was leaving a parcel arrived, rob the ad told me I'd like the contents, and I sure did, one of the first chronomats in the uk. It was a black dial on a red edged canvas strap. The new bezel looks great as do the small rubber inserts, a subtle upgrade to a traditional rider equipped bezel. The strap is nice, the red edging and underside is rubber so it should be water resistant and withstand a good amount of use unlike leather lined fabric straps. The price was £6000 as far as I remember and it'll be on display by now.

He also has a black steel superocean 44 on a rubber pro3 strap with black steel tang. Looked great if u like the rubber bezel, was very stealthy with no brightly coloured details at all.

other highlights - colt release date of may mentioned, auto will be £2650.
emergency still at least 6 months off, china and russian governments are holding it up. Will be released first in mainland europe but you can only buy it from the country you register it in so no grey imports on this one.

was an interesting morning and as always rob was generous with his time and happy to chat watches. I'm waiting for the colt to arrive as it's that or an avenger gmt for me, roll on may.

real life pics of the chronomat:

Looks like they have started shipping, thanks for update. What type of clasp was on the Chronomat strap?

Was the super ocean the regular or chrono black steel.

I am about to purchase a super ocean 44 (none chrono) but would be very interested if a black steel version of the regular watch was availble.

Any idea of price and numbers ?

Cheers :lingsrock:

So the numbers and marks on the bezel are indeed rubber? I thought they were some sort of DLC

Great to know. I was hoping that the "lining" on these military straps was some sort of synthetic, as opposed to leather, for water-resistance purposes.

Wow , that was fast. Was the canvas strap on tang or deployant buckle?

Glad to hear that the new Colt will be hitting stores next month.

I prefer the one with the vintage yellow dial. This one still looks great though.
