I thought about this a while back and always wondered.

So, options?

Probably because Breitling knows about 1 of 1000 will ever be put on a wet suit. For the 999 a folding dive extension is a mild nuisance when making a quick micro adjustment. Just my guess as a dedicated desk diver.

True but branding it as a true dive watch. . . Bit like the SO that's a dive watch. . . But no lume dot. . . .

the same is the case with the avenger seawolf. it doesnt bother me but it does seem odd that my tag f1 has a diver extension but my 3000m diving behemoth doesnt!

I'm not sure, but Pro1 should have an extension.

+1, Pro one has the extension, pro two does not as I recall.

Pro I was the last bracelet with a dive extension. Clearly Breitling didn't think that it was necessary or it wouldn't have been discontinued (or would have been brought back). Not sure how much of an indication discussions here are, but it's not a common complaint.

A double-pusher folding clasp with a quick-micro-adjust feature is usually much more necessary. I've upgraded both my steel-bracelet Breitlings (1 Pilot and 1 Pro II.) with the Ocean Racer clasp and it works fine. Should be available without upgrading.

Hmm...

So is the "double-pusher folding clasp with a quick-micro-adjust feature" a way to quickly make the bracelet big enough to wear over a wet suit, then quickly switch back to normal (without using tools or taking the thing apart)?

And did the clasp fit right onto the Pro II bracelet (just pop off the original one, and pop on the Ocean Racer clasp)?

And of course, does it look good?

If so, where can I get one of these clasps?

...I have been wearing a Super Avenger w/ Pro II while diving for months. I have just been pushing up my wet suit sleeve and wearing the watch on my wrist. This is not the most comfortable thing in the world, since the wet suit sleeve just slips down and pushes my watch more and more into the back of my hand throughout the dive.

If this works like I think you are saying it works, this could be a major improvement for me!!

If not...does Breitling sell a dive extension that you can just put in the bracelet?

As already noted, Breitling doesn't have a bracelet with a dive extension. The Ocean Racer clasp for rubber straps has a quick adjust sizing option that allows for the clasp to be adjusted slightly in a couple of seconds while it is open, however the adjustment is less than a dive extension would usually offer.

I can only say what has been just said by Roff. This clasp is sold with or without the Ocean Racer strap and only minor work is to be done on the bracelet to be able to take up reversibly this clasp. This can be made by any good watch-maker. It's not unlikely that I've posted a photo about this earlier. I'll do the same upgrade with every Pro and Pilot bracelet that I'll have in the future. Navi bracelet seems to be a tad too thin to look nice with this clasp and the Ocean Classic is right on the border but this one needs an extra connecting link. Hope this helps.

I seem to recall a telephone conversation with BUK a few years ago about this and they said that they expected actual divers to be using the rubber straps as opposed to the bracelets. Makes the moniker "pro" for the bracelets superfluous in my opinion. Having said that, I use my Rolexes and Omegas on bracelets for diving, but it's never a perfect fit as the neoprene compresses at depth and they get a bit loose, which tends not to happen with rubber straps. The bracelets on a dive watch work best in warm water diving when you can wear the watch next to your skin.

I guess their customer service people need to schedule a meeting with their marketing people.

The IWC Aquatimer bracelet system (quick exchange for the 3767 and 3768 chronographs) allow Velcro strap use for diving (on the market for the 3767, for 3768 to be made later) and this is the best when you need underwater readjusting. But unfortunately the (otherwise excellent) steel bracelet does not (yet?) have a quick micro adjust feature and the rubber straps do not have a folding clasp at all :( anyway, the Velcro seems to be the best for water sports IMHO.

Post subject:  Re: Why Does The SteelFish Not Have A Dive Extension?

I do recall times from my childhood days in Northern Europe, going swimming in the middle of summer in the Baltic Sea when the water temperature was typically quoted at a balls shrinking 18-19 degrees C.
Occasionally it hit 21C and I recall we thought it was a heat wave!
Having spent the last 30 years in subtropical climates I refuse to even dip my toe in anything below 25 C and the closer to 30 C the better :-)
As such it is very unlikely that I will ever find myself submerged in any liquid that would require me to wear a longs sleeve wetsuit. As such no dive extension required on any of my watches ;-)
