I'm in the market for an Aerospace, been a fan for years but now want to purchase one for myself. I like the look of the model from circa 1990 and the E560562, from 2000 I think. Would a well looked after example last me or are there any known issues where certain death can be expected for an Aerospace this old? Would I be better spending the extra and getting the new Evo? I prefer the plainer faces of the earlier models mentioned, but also find the Evo a fairly attractive piece also. Will Breitling still service the older examples I've mentioned? Cheers |

Welcome. E56062 is 1985-95, 40mm E65062 is 1996-2000, 40mm E75362 is 2001-4, 40mm E79362 is 2005-13, 42mm [with some cosmetic variations, ie the 'Avantage' was 2005-6, called the straight 'Aerospace' again 2007-13, but 2010-13 had a textured dial with more numerals] E79363 is 2013-, 43mm, the current 'Aerospace Evo' See: http://www.breitlingsource.com/models/professional.html The Breitling 79 SQ movement in the current Evo was used in the Aero from 2005, and Breitling undertakes to service its SQ movements for at least 20 years after they cease to use the movement, so post-2005 would give you more peace of mind. From what you say you might want to shoot for a 2005-10 model, which has simple looks but the current movement. Note that the current Evo is larger than previous, at 43mm. |

Not 100% sure but this is getting close to a situation where if you send it for service to Breitling they may say that this movement is no longer serviceable and you need to pay extra for a movement upgrade or at worst they will just offer you a discount on a current model purchase and keep your old model (if you accept the discount offer). |

Cheers guys, valuable information. Will be looking at the 2005-10 models or maybe just bite the bullet and go for the Evo. Many thanks |

I have a new grey EVO and have had the Avantage prior. I would definitely get the EVO, it's a much nicer piece than past models. Plus the pro III strap sets it aside from previous models. |
