I'm sure this has likely been asked many times before - I did a search of the forums but couldn't see the answer so forgive me if so as I'm new here.

It's probably about time for me to send my Colt GMT automatic to Breitling for a service as I've had it for about 2 1/2 years from new. I live in Swindon, UK and there's no AD in Swindon so my question is how do I send it to Breitling directly? I see their address on the website, but is it best to call / email them before sending? Do I send payment when I send the watch?

Appreciate any pointers. Many thanks.

Generally you just send it to the service centre at Tunbridge Wells, you can get the address from the website. I normally ring them and let them know it's on the way and give them the Special Delivery tracking number.

They will look at it and provide a quote by post/phone, you give the go ahead, they fix it and then call you/write to you when it's done, then you phone up, pay up and they send it back.

All pretty straight forward.

Make sure you use RMSD by 1pm. NEVER put Breitling UK on the package, just B. UK.

Hope that helps.

Stef

P.S Address is:

B. UK
P.O. BOX 309
TUNBRIDGE WELLS

Great - thanks very much for the tip - that hadn't crossed my mind but makes total sense!

Depending on how you use your watch it may not need attention yet. If all is well with the watch then unless it spends a lot of time in water or on other extreme conditions I would be waiting another two and a half years before giving it a full overhaul.

+1
And Breitling won't tell you that, they'll give you a quote.

Thanks all for your thoughts. I wear it every day, all day other than when I'm sleeping, but haven't had it in water at all. Agree it probably doesn't need a full overhaul, and it's not giving me any trouble, but from what I gather Breitling will do a service which would keep it running nicely and should be undertaken every few years?

Ernest Jones in Swindon used to sell Brietling from the shop on Regents street but as the town has suffered I guess the sale of Breitlings has! They may still be happy to send it for you?

Mallorys in Bath are also an AD.

Thanks Paul. Yes I remember when EJ Swindon used to sell Breitlings - but like you say I guess sales weren't that great unfortunately.
