Hi all, I just made my first breitling purchase and could not be happier! It is model m1338010. I just have a few questions about the watch that maybe you guys can help me with. How many of these were produced? Through some research I came up with 2000 made in 2008, and 2000 in 2009.....( 3000 for the m13370) although I am not certain if they were made before or after those years. I am aware of the m133802c which is this years model, that is limited to a 1000 pieces. ( Correct me if I am wrong. ) Is the only difference between the 13370 and 13380 the size? I bought the watch because I love it, not for resale value, but am curious if these watches call for a premium because of the limited numbers. I have seen a deployment clasp for the newer blacksteel model and absolutely love it. Just wondering what the band size is on the watch, and where I can find a black clasp/rubber band combo? Well thank you all in advance for your time and expierence. Without this helpful forum I would have never had the chance to own the watch I've been looking for. |

The original Avenger Skyland was 2,000, the Super Avenger - different, larger model, version was 3,000 a year later. There are now close to 20,000 DLC / Blacksteel Breitlings out there - probably more actually. There is a price premium over the non DLC models because they were more expensive new, but with so many DLC watches out there they have no resale premium as collector items. The strap is 22/20 so a 20mm DLC deployant will fit, but there was never one originally available for it. |

Thanks for the information! One more question I forgot to ask......Does the watch need any kind of maintenence? It is dated from March of 08, but has pretty much been sitting in the box since by the looks of it. |

It service soon, use is irrelevant in servicing which is driven by the age of the oils. If it still runs within COSC specs and maintains a decent reserve then it will be fine for now, but it's going to need a service within the next 12 months or so. |

Okay sounds good. Now to test the power reserve I assume I fully wind the watch and let it sit there until it dies? Should I start the chronometer also? And what amount of time is in specs? How do I test if it is in cosc specs? Can I start it with atomic clock and compare seconds? And if so at what amount of time? |

Lots of threads on this. Fully wind the watch and allow it to run down completely without being touched. A freshly serviced watch should have a power reserve of 42 hours without the chronograph (not chronometer) running. COSC specs are -4 to +6 seconds per day so test over a 24 hour period against whatever reference you prefer. Bear in mind also that there are lots of factors affecting rate so try to average the rate over several days of 'real world' conditions. |
