Post subject:  Is this normal?

Purchased new Chronomat 44 GMT from AD in NYC about 1 month ago. Watch is worn daily. Keeps time well and runs no issue. But, here is my question.

If the chronograph is running for an extended period with the seconds hand sweeping even while worn it's reserve is less than 48hrs and stops. This has happened more than once. Once rewound and chronograph stopped watch works fine as it should.

Should the chronograph not be left running for extended periods of time? Will this damage the watch in any way? Should it last longer than the 48hrs considering it's worn and moving daily?

Thanks so much in advance. First Breitling & first post here.

Welcome to BreitlingSource.

Running the chronograph will reduce the power reserve because it requires energy and of course the watch only has a finite amount of energy to give. I might have guessed more than 48 hours with the chrono running but it's not unreasonable.

Running the chrono constantly isn't going g to damage the watch, just reduce the power reserve as you have discovered.

Instead, try to let yr chronograph run for about 24 hours once in a while to prevent the lubricants from migrating. I do that twice a mth, enough though I use my Chronograph pretty often.
