Hi,

I bought this watch because I loved it sooooo much. However, I am having such a hard time adjusting to the fact that it has a Quartz movement, I would have chosen an automatic but the look of my watch is the best I have seen bar none. How can I get used to the fact its a Quartz.....I don't know if I am overthinking this, or can be able to get over this fact its the one thing that is killing the pleasure of this watch. So, strange but it really bothers me, as I am not the biggest Quartz fan, but perhaps I am just too old school, and have to be taught to be more open minded. Help.....can I find peace? Thanks Guys!!

I wish I could help, but I agree completely. That is one reason I bought the Avenger Blacksteel. I do not like Quartz. I think you will stop thinking about it. There are a lot of guys on here who have a nice mix of both Mechanical and Quartz, they do not seem to explode or commit suicide, so there is hope for you... :lingsrock:

Well only you know the answer to that.

Personally I would never buy a quartz piece, but that's just me. There is nothing inherently wrong with them, they are neither superior nor inferior to mechanical, just different.

However, if something is stopping you from loving the watch, whatever that might be, are you the type of person that can get past that?

Exactly. Have a mechanical as well and you'll appreciate both, the beat and soul of one, the out-of-the-drawer accuracy of the other. Having moved into mechanicals the only thing that bugged me was the tick as opposed to sweep of the second hand on quartzes, but I solved that by chopping my Colt for an Aerospace, which doesn't have a second hand.
