Now I'm really concerned.
What movement is the Breitling Super Ocean Abyss Chronograph II suppose to have? Is it ETA Valjoux based? Bi-direction winding, right?

When gently swinging my brand new Super Ocean and placing it to my ear I hear the flywheel spinning rapidly  - not winding  then it slows down and settles then it briefly swings back the other way and I hear the click click click winding sound - like a cheap Chinese replica.

Is this what you guys hear with your Breitlings?

I'm feeling really ripped off right now. :guns:

Movement is 2824-2 based which is bidirectional winding. The fake of this model is very good, where did yours come from. Did you get box and papers etc?

Well it should be real from them, they are a trusted grey market dealer, but because they are an AD there is no guarantee that the watch isn't a customer return.

I would be more worried about it having a problem rather than being fake and if it winds and keeps time there shouldn't be anything to worry about.

I thought the abyss chrono was calibre 13 which is ETA 7750? The 7750 has the noisiest rotor of all the ETA chronographs in my opinion.

Thanks, I feel better.
Yes, It wind and keep time.
if it is a customer return - It's in perfect shape no scratches I can see.

However, the rotor is noisy and free wheeling in one direction - i can plainly hear it.

Oops, missed that it was the chrono, that also explains the freewheeling as it only winds clockwise.

So I guess I need to keep winding it - as it doesn't wind itself both ways?

No, it winds clockwise, that's enough.

Does using the chrono function run the watch down?

Marginally, but it won't be an issue if the watch is a daily wearer.

On the caseback. In a rectangle. Just Google-image search for 'Breitling serial number' for images.

the 7750 is a bit loud and it does sort of wind up. It is not a flyback (I just assume this for safety) so stop before you reset it and observe date change safety zone.

So far so good.
Gaining five seconds a day, so far.
Only concern now is if I'm active enough to keep it wound, or if I should give it a few turn.
Most of my day is behind a desk.
