I have been admiring Breitlings for awhile now and I am getting ready to make my first purchase. I have fallen in love with the A25362. Specifically one with a black dial and SS pilots band. I was wondering if anyone could tell me a little more about this watch. If it's a good buy, if there are known issues, or anything someone who isn't too knowledgable on the subject might want to know. My goal is to patiently browse eBay and pick one up in the $5K range with box and papers. Thank you, and I appreciate your feedback.

It's as reliable as any Breitlings, nothing particular that you need to be aware of. It's one of the more popular Bentleys so there are plenty about, and lots of threads here with photos and discussions of different aspects.

Make sure that you factor age and service history into he price - a mechanical watch should be serviced every 5 - 7 years so if you pick one up that is that age that hasn't been serviced you are going to need to add that cost to the watch. In the US that is going to run around $700 all in.

You should be able to pick up a Motors closer to $4k.

I haven't seen any that are with box, papers, and a pilots band that low. Do you know of a reputable dealer online that offers the prices you mention? Or do I just need to watch eBay more?

Thank you for the info! This may be a newbie question, but.... I bought a mechanical watch a couple years ago and know that they require servicing. However, I've never understood what they actually do to the watch or why it costs so much.

First off it doesn't come on the Pilot bracelet, it's the Speed bracelet.

For servicing, there is a disassembly, cleaning, oiling replacement of service parts - hands, springs, gaskets, others as needed, reassembly, regulating and testing. In the case of a full service there is also case refinishing.
