Post subject:  croc vs. leather for avenger skyland

looking for feedback on which strap to get for my new avenger skyland black dial. i've always been a croc fan, but does it go with that watch? also, which color, black or brown? personal pics would be well appreciated as well as helpful. thanks.

I bet the black croc strap would look nice, and I'd make sure to go with the deployment clasp over the tang buckle.

Personally I have a slight preference for leather over croc on most Breitlings. Fairly sure I'm in the minority on that though.

As for black v brown, they will both look great on a black dial Skyland but you might find black to be a little more versatile in terms of what you can wear with it.

Can't help with pics of a Skyland, but this thread has some shots of a black (or dark grey) dial Avenger Seawolf looking very sweet on brown leather:

Oh yeah, and as jnelson3097 said, make sure you go with the deployant clasp. Definitely worth it.

Id say leather, just because the croc is too dressy for the skyland, imo. Ive been thinking about getting a black leather with tang for my skyland as well. I might look into a brown one as well.

Thats a tough call for me. I think both would look awesome (leather or croc) but im more curious what the crocodile would look like. I think a skyland would dress up nicely :P . Something other than black just so you get contrast from the dial IMO. Deployment all the way. Don't trade off your steel bracelet though because it would be nice to swap back and forth.

Heres a random pic of my watch. Just a stock skyland with blue dial.

Cheers

A minority of two? I agree with you.

In almost all cases I personally prefer croc over calf, and certainly prefer deployant over tang buckle. Regarding color I think you can end up looking good with both black and brown, but black is easier to dress with.

Generally it's Croco for me. I take RJRJRJ's point about it being more dressy (because it is!) and leather goes very well on the Aeromarine range, but Croco really does lift practically any watch it's put on. However, I do also really like black leather on some Navi's as it gives it that really classic look IMO.

Both can look great, but the main thing to take into account though is the HUGE difference in price between leather and croco!

In terms of colour, I think that black leather looks infinitely better than the brown leather (I've just never really liked the calf leather shade of brown), but brown croco looks fantastic as the the grain shows up brilliantly. Then again I have black croco on my 6.75 and I wouldn't want to have any other strap on it!

So there, I've been no help yet again!

...and I say keep the Pro II on it, looks much better on the Skyland.

I put mine on rubber the other day and was fascinated with it....for like 3-4 days. I kept looking at my Pro II and had to put it back on. Its just too damn nice.

That's the great thing of having multiple options - you can change for a few days just for the fun of it, and then go back again. :)

Does anybody have a link to where I could purchase a good spring bar tool? I've seen some on-line but always wonder if they would work or not. I have the leather strap as well as the dive strap just sitting in my drawer and would like to start wearing them.
