I decided to take my new 3 week old cockpit in for regulation today as it was 30 seconds fast a day!

As per usual with Time and Gold, my AD, the service was excellent! They have Swiss trained watch makers on site and are authorized to service Brietlings so no having to send the watch off to Toronto HQ!

When I had the problem of my watch being magnetized in the first few days of ownership they sorted that out and gave me a print out of how my watch was doing in it's various positions, after regulation today they gave me a new print out and it made very interesting reading!

For my watch it seems the best way for it to be at night is crown up as that will lose 2 seconds in 24hours. If your watch shop has one of these machines it is fascinating to get this health check printed out and experiment with the various ways to rest your watch at night!

I will keep an eye on it for the next few days to see what happens and report back!

One other thing of note, my client who got me the watch and who at the same time got the old style TT cockpit had the second problem in a week with his!

All credit to Time and Gold, within 45 minutes they had replaced the movement with a new one they had in stock, again, no waiting 6 weeks for the watch to be sorted and shipped.

I think that kind of service is worth it's weight in gold, all that and they beat the discount in the other AD in town(The sales person in that store did not inspire confidence when she did not even know the difference between a manual and automatic movement!)

Good to hear that you are back on track!

It is indeed a great thing to have a well equipped and trained AD nearby. I have understood that quite a few AD's in the US miss that service.

Great story of great service. I wish I had a Time and Gold near me after reading that. Getting my Steelfish regulated was apparently too difficult a task for my nearest Breitling repair-approved AD to even attempt to undertake.

It really does make all the difference to have this kind of back up, one of the things I love when I go in there is to see the owners Omega Dynamic on display, they all love watches and that is all they sell!

I have been in to so many so called "high end" watch stores where the people in them would be better off selling cans of peas!

I woke up this morning to find my watch second hand strike the twelve o'clock position at exactly the time my atomic watch did, the same as when I set it yesterday afternoon!

Why would regulation of a watch be so difficult to do? I have watched the watchmaker I have used for years do it, if trained it is not rocket science, he say's it is one of the basic skills in watch repair !
