Probably very wishiful thinking but...

Has anyone seen the original Navitimer 01 LE (black with silver subdials) at an AD recently? I've visited just about all the ADs in Australia, hoping to find one in the corner of a slow turnover shop. My heart skipped a beat when I spied the burgundy date wheel a week ago but alas it took me a few seconds to realise it was a cosmonaute. So, I though I'd cast the net a little wider....

I realise there are a couple of preloved ones for sale here, but I'd rather not go there for the moment.

As far as I know it is long ago sold out at ADs.

Hmm, I would have suspected as much, however

I had thought that the chronomat LE had also sold out but discovered at least two floating around in ADs here. That's why I remain at least a little hopeful!

Yes, but the Navitimer was more widely accepted than the Chronomat.

It was actually quite funny, the salesperson at one AD claimed it was a current model and that they had only had it for a very short while. I politely nodded. The salesperson at the other AD was honest and said it had been sitting around for a couple of years. I know which AD I'll be getting it from!

I've been through both most of the Syd and Melb AD's in past few months. Haven't spied a LE for sale there. But there are some for sale for a great price here on the forums. Perhaps have a look at them?

Isn't there one up for sale in the Buy/Sell/Trade forum right now?

Thanks for the feedback guys,

Yes, I would prefer a new one for the moment. If anyone spies one (and doesn't snap it up themselves) please let me know! I'm off to singapore early in the new year so I'll definitely be checking out all the ADs there.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't they long gone? I bought mine used recently and the original date of sale was in late 2011. And mine is 9XX/2000. The only ones I've seen are preowned but every one I've seen has been babied and well cared for.

Hmm

Unless someone has very high up connections in breitling hq I doubt it's possible to say that for sure. For example busa may have sold out of their allocation and gone to Switzerland for more. Switzerland may have had none left, but that does not mean it is sold out in every worldwide market.

For example the chronomat 01le was widely rumoured to be sold out but I know of two that are still for sale at ads (now only one!). Some retailers are claiming the mercury silver navitimer le has sold out but I know for a fact that there are at least three still for sale in Australia.

Granted, it was a very popular piece so chances are it has sold out but I'm still holding hope! I don't think serial number has anything to do with it. Thanks for the input and if you do see one.....

The LE numbers are issued randomly with the exception of 'premium' numbers.

As I said at the start of this thread to the best of my knowledge they were sold out a long time back.

Hi, I am new here, my first post and although my second Breitling, I am still learning about the manufacture.
Just to let you know that I have just bought a new Navitimer 01 LE yesterday from an AD in a country not far from Singapore. Just to prove that there could still be one lying around new.
I wasn't even aware that the model has been out for a few years now (the LE version with a transparent case back). I was only told that its a limited edition, with the number engraved on the side.
BTW, the week/year of manufacture is 4210B4, engraved.
So, keep searching, I am sure there would be one new lying around unsold.
