Good Afternoon All,

I recently sent a watch to BUSA and was wondering if you could advise as what to expect for turn around? Fed Ex show it was signed for two days ago, however I haven't received any communication form BUSA acknowledging receipt. Is this typical? I read they mail a quote and it could take roughly three days, is that standard? I was debating contacting them to confirm but didn't want to jump the gun!

Thanks
Jon

Please dont worry! Service centres are very busy, they will have everything under control and in a waiting list. First of all the watch will need to be booked in. Then the watch will go in to "diagnostics" where a watchmaker will have a look over the watch and assess exactly what he feels needs to be done to the watch. This process can take a week to 10 days, then the acknowledgement will be sent in the post with the BUSA reference, along with a quote of all the work and a breakdown of price.

Don't worry and hang fire for at least another week. :lingsrock:

Watchnut- I received a phone call and estimate this evening. I would suspect you should be hearing from them by the first of next week.

I sent my Super Avenger on Dec. 9th, out of warranty, for general service and polishing. They gave me an estimate on Dec. 13th. I had it back today Jan. 17th. I was expecting 8 weeks so I was surprised to see it turnaround so fast.

I had a great experience with my first dealing with BUSA! I sent my Transocean for some work and under warranty, turn around was approx three weeks. They acknowledged receipt immediately by email and followed with an estimate a couple of days later.

If it was under warranty why did they give you an estimate?

(He may have meant that the estimate was for how long it would take?)

The estimate provided an itemized description of all the work to be done. All items under warranty indicated no charge, a polish service was suggested ($135) which I declined and a $25 shipping fee but this was later dropped after I reminded them that the watch was sent for repairs under warranty. They basically performed a full service including a light polishing job and the watch came out looking like new! :-)
