I have a B-1 on Fighter bracelet and as I am sure all are aware this is a mixed finish bracelet with Brushed links in the center of polished links. So my question is does anyone have any tips for maintaining this or in fact any mixed finished watch/bracelet?

I have some Sunshine polishing cloths and they seem to work real well on the polished surface. But what do I do about the brushed surface, just try to avoid it? what if it gets marked is there a way to get the brushed finish back?

Thanks
Lee

Hi Lee

I have the same bracelet and managed fine with a bit of cunning.

Take the bracelet off and cut strips of cellotape to mask up the centre links while polishing either side with you cape cods/sunshine cloths or whatever. Then after cleaning any gunk away with soap and water you repeat the process but masking the outer 2 rows while you re finish the brushed links. For this you need a fine scotchbrite pad - red or green usually - rub gently length wise along the links but quite lightly.

When you remove the tape and give it another wash and dry it will be transformed (depending on how how bad it was to begin with) - do 1 half first so you can see the before and after.

The brushed sections on the deployant can be done in the same way - mask up the 2 different finishes and use the same procedure.

Should work a treat - any questions please get back to me.

Have fun :D

Thanks BB,

I was wondering about Scotchbrite, but didn't just want to try it first and risk damaging it. I dont need to do anything right now, (Watch is only a couple of weeks old) but I am sure it won't be too long before I do.

Just wanted to make sure I know what to do when the need arises.

Cheers
Lee

OK

The scotchbrite to keep an eye out for is quite soft - if you need to you can always use an old dish washing pad. They're fairly soft when worn.

Congrats on the lovely new B-1
