Just bought my first Breitling from a trusted suplier in the USA, got myself a chronomat I ended up paying £895ish what will the import duty be on delivery???

Without checking, I think it's 17.5% vat + 4% duty.

The courier will also add about £10/20 handling charge for collecting the taxes.

I'd expect around £200 extra.

That's the kind of rule of thumb I use. Think 20%ish and you won't go too wrong.

It does happen. Not often, but occasionally...... not sure why, so it's best to just be pleased if and when it does! :)

i got a wicked ac/dc shot flask belt buckle from America once and i dident get hit for import. was only worth about £20 though

Yes, that may happen and, in fact, it happened to me couple months ago. I bough my watch from the US and it went through with no TAX charged.

I was expecting to pay it and I had the money ready to go. They just didn't asked me to pay anything and delivered it straight away.

Not sure what the parameters are for this to happen, but it may be completely random.

It may come afterwards. I've had all experiences - no VAT at all, VAT directly and request for VAT sent out 30 days afterwards.

If the watch was sent Fedex, expect a bill in the post well after delivery of the item.

Watch got here, customs cost £169.72 total spend on watch so far £1,064.72 so I am a happy chappie, still need to get that pilot bracelet though!!!

Its been 60 days since my watch was delivered and still got no bill.

I will definitely let you guys know if I get one.
