Post subject: | Missing International Warrenty Booklet |
Hi all, sorry but another newbie question! How easy is it to get a replacement international warranty booklet for a second hand Breitling and how would this affect its value if it is not present at the point of sale? I have seen a watch I'm interested in at what I feel could be a good price, but, and maybe a big but, the warrenty booklet is missing, which will obviously contain the serial number and purchase date etc of the watch. Would you buy it?? |

Warranty booklets cannot be replaced. It could be lost, it could have been a grey market watch (with hardly ever come with the Breitling warranty). If the watch was sold more than 2 years ago and is non in house then there is no practical issue, but it will have a small impact on value. If it is still within 2 years of new then it is obviously a practical concern and will have more of an impact on value. The decision to buy or not would be dependent on a lot of factors - price, condition, known history, seller, etc. |

The seller is on eBay, he does not know how old the watch is and as previously posted it is missing the warranty booklet and it seems the Chrono certificate. It is a Titanium Chrono Avenger (not the M1) with a white face, the auction has about three days left and the highest bid is currently £510. I think I will leave it and post in the "wanted" section on here for an Titanium Avenger Seawolf or Titanium Chrono Avenger (non M1) with full paperwork with either a blue, yellow or white face. I wish I could buy one of these models new these days, but they are now discontinued. |

Given that the model was discontinued 6 years ago it is highly unlikely that it would still be in warranty anyway - that would have to have been sold NOX 4 years after being discontinued. The COSC certificate can be replaced through Breitling. |

Good to know the COSC can be replaced through Breitling, no doubt at a charge. The international warranty booklet to me means confirmation of the authenticity, age and country of origin of the watch. I'm a little fussy on these things, I like things to be 100% complete. I would just like to add a thank you for you relying to all my novice questions and helping educate me in the world of Breitlings. I have learnt a lot over the last week from this forum. |
