Can someone tell me if the Avenger Skyland is inhouse manufactured or not. I have been told two conflicting stories. One, that it was the first model to be manufactured inhouse and the second, that it will be made inhouse in the future as they are bringing all their models inhouse.

It's not, it's ETA Valjoux 7750 based.

Just wondering
Does it make any difference inhouse or not are there any advantages one way or the other? Does inhouse make it a better watch or more desirable?
I'm just trying to understand this.. who else does the company that makes the movements manufacture for.

ETA is the largest movement manufacturer in the world and produces the vast majority of Swiss mechanical movements. Their movements are used by the likes of Breitling and IWC as well as by the no name brands that sell watches for a few hundred bucks. In the last few years more companies have been developing their own in house movements, in part because Swatch Group that owns ETA is cutting supply to outside producers, and that is what led Breitling to launch its in house movement in 2009.

In house movements often have more features than generic movements - in Breitling's case a longer power reserve, instant date change and different (some would argue better) mechanism for activating the chronograph. With better in house control an in house movement should also be built to tighter tolerances and higher quality standards. However, as Breitling found out it can also have a number of teething problems and the watches with in house movements are more expensive to buy and service.

Which is 'better' is a purely subjective decision for each buyer.
