I was shopping around for furniture at the mall to replace an old chair. Like with all things I found myself walking into my Breitling AD. Not really looking to by but had to see if anything new came. I spoke the the salesmen and he asked if I had the chronolog book? I told him I did. Then he then handed me "B the Insider" magazine. I not sure if I had seen this before. It's short stories on models, people and events they covered. I also think Breitling is expanding their professional groups from just aviation. Had anyone come across this before?

You can pick them up at your local AD. They had a stack of them.
Here's couple of pictures.

It's been mentioned a few times - that's the same one that was referenced back in the summer so looks to be a one off or occasional publication.

What else are they expending into?

Perhaps they are just trying to get a greater reach for the brand. Who hasn't had an occasional magazine sent during the warrantee period of their new car? Keeps the brand in your mind and in your eyes.

They've been sponsoring free divers for some time.

Could this be a life style promotion? Brands like Porsche and Rolex promote an ideal that if you own one, you are a special type of person. You live a life style above the man who has not yet graduated to the brand. Nice way to get people together that is interested in the same thing and keeping the "likes" on facebook high.

Yes, it could be seen as such, but its Brand Awareness at its core. A good read in a free mag is always an excuse to pass out a coloured mag to anyone remotely interested, or in many cases, to those who have no idea about the maker. Kids see it and look at the content and think, one day I am going to own one of those. Shoppers see it and think, maybe a present for the other half this year. The association with aviation or the brand ambassadors always gets readers in to look at what they are up to. To read the articles/infotainment and to see the association with events or people that are attractive/desirable is always a winner.

Its a good way of saying everything about you to a very wide audience that would possibly otherwise not notice you.

Not any more? Pictures of Nitsch are still on the Superocean page of the Breitling website. Hmm, well, that also might be any other free diver...
