I have a hard time telling the Navitimer models apart from each other, could someone please help me identify the model of this watch? MSRP/year would be great as well if you know it.

Thanks guys, the model is a2332212 and was bought in 2008, can someone tell me the approximate aftermarket value of this watch in very good condition?

So regular Navitimer. FAQs suggest checking sold items on eBay and dealer asking prices on Chrono24 for pricing help - plenty of these around to help out.

I've checked ebay, Chrono24 and WatchRecon, and they all seem to indicate that the watch is worth more than 4k used, but I was under the impression it was closer to 2k.

Of course if you look at new models on bracelets then prices will be higher. Yours is 5 years old on a tang calf strap (more than $1,000 less than the bracelet when new) and with no indication that it has been serviced, all of which bring pricing down.

My watch finally arrived... and I feel stupid again.

I cannot get the watch started. I wound the crown as shown in the booklet 40 times and then pulled it out to set the time and then pushed back in and after wearing it for a few minutes it still doesn't start.

Am I doing something wrong?

Was it running at any point before you wound it? In other words when you opened the package it arrived in? If so, then the movement of the transportation was enough to wind the mainspring from via the automatic winding system, which would indicate there's no problem with that.

Silly question, but did you wind the crown in the right direction - i.e. clockwise? Could you hear the watch winding and feel the slight resistance? If you did, and you gave it a decent number of full turns, then the watch may just be out of beat, so you could try rotating/moving the watch a bit as that may get it started (I don't want to say shake it, because you shouldn't shake a mechanical watch).

Did you definitely push the crown all the way back in after setting the time?

If there's still no joy, it may need to be looked at by Breitling.

No it was not running at any point. I did wind the crown in the right direction, clockwise, and the manual also shows arrows so I couldn't have messed that up. There is only 2 spots for the crown, pushed all the way in or all the way out. If out then I can set the time, in is where I had it to wind. There is resistance when I'm winding, I wore it for a few hours after and it still didn't start.

Well, we always have to eliminate the easy things first.

Unfortunately it sounds like it might need to take trip to Breitling for a repair.

If it was worn for a few hours that would be enough to solve the problem of it being out of beat, definitely needs Breitling attention.

I would get a refund on that watch and then source another one. Good luck.
