Hi All, I am itching to purchase my first Breitling and am interested in the Colt Automatic 2 (blue dial, pro 2 bracelet). The reason I like this particular model because it is a good fit for my wrist and I find the dial spectacular. I am not bothered about people saying it’s an entry level model as I like it! Anyway I have tried many AD's in the UK and have tried negotiating. The RRP for this watch is 1,635 pounds sterling. The best deal I have been offered is 1,471 pounds sterling (10% discount) and they will also give me the blue diver pro strap for the cost price (around 25 pounds, not the retail price). Some AD's offered no discount!!!! Should I go for this? How much will this model cost in Dubai or US? Many thanks for your help in advance. |

Sounds ok not brilliant but I only got a 13% discount from my AD here in the UK that was on a Avenger Skyland. I think if you really want the other strap then i would push for it for nothing, just walk in there and say i will take te deal as long as you throw the other strap in for nothing.... If they wanna sell it to you then they will not quible over £25.Good luck with the deal ![]() Darren |

Thanks for the advice Darren. I am more concerned that I could get this model abroad for less than 1,000 pounds. If the difference is only 200-300 pounds then I would just purchase it here. I purchased a Tag F1 in Dubai and it retails here for 725 GBP and I got it for 430 GBP!!! If I am saving that much on a watch that costs 725 I was just wandering how much I could save on a 1,635 pounds watch... |

I'm not sure you'll find a new Colt Auto for less than 1000GBP abroad. For example, Authentic Watches in the US are one of the cheapest online dealers (so they are not AD's) and yet the Colt Auto is still $1975 on their website. (http://www.authenticwatches.com/breitlingcolt2.html) The exchange rate is around 1.8 dollars to the pound at the mo, and then factoring in 17.5% VAT and a little for import duty and you won't be saving much. And as I say, that's not even from an AD. |

Thanks for your comments Driver8. Much appreciated. I think I will go ahead and purchase it from the UK for the points you raised. I guess because I am looking to purchase a less expensive Breitling any potential savings I could make will be small than if I was purchasing one of the more expensive models. |

You can always get a deal done over the phone and take a 1-day trip to the states. You probably wont save any money at the end of it all, but maybe you can go somewhere like Washington DC New York City or something to see the sights. Youll basically get a one day trip for free. |

Thanks for your help Stef. That is indeed the model I am after. To be honest I am happy to buy it from the AD I visited for 1,471. They are on the Breitling website and I definetly will not buy from a retailer that is not on the Breitling site just for peace of mind. |
