Post subject:  Service Centers
Greetings! My watch may need service and it remains under warranty - Im looking for comments regarding any experience dealing with any of the service centers in the US. By the way, here are the symptoms.. I was winding the watch after several days of non-wear, and for the first time I felt a different winding sound, next thing I noticed was the rotor spinning while the watch (Transocean Chronograph) was on my hand :-(

Thoughts?

Send it directly in to BUSA in CT. It's a pretty simple fix.

Not common, but not unheard of either. The rotor is not disconnecting properly from the keyless works that is rotating when the watch is manually wound. Simple adjustment and it will be good to go.

I just received the estimate from BUSA, I described the problem as "rotor spinning freely during winding, the problem appears sporadically and the watch seems to keep accurate time" The estimates reads "movement low amplitude" as the problem that will be fixed. Ugh? That's besides offering a $135 polish job that I declined. Your thoughts?

The movement may well have a low amplitude, but that is not causing the rotor to spin.

I wouldn't be concerned - the service will address all of the problems.

Your watch will still come back looking like new, even without the polish job - they do a pretty good job buffing it. Not as good as the full polish, but it'll look like new for a few days.
