Having an interesting time with the PDII on the Avenger.

I'm really loving the clasp, and the blue strap really brings out the blue of the dial. Gorgeous.

However... now it's bluer, it doesn't quite work with a work suit. So I'm wearing jeans to work more often...

But I'm also finding that it's a little bulkier on my arm, so typically, I'm taking it off and setting it on my desk during the working day (worrying about leaving that value watch on a desk all day is another matter) and putting it on when it's time to go home.

In the car I'm taking it off and leaving it on the passenger seat, and at home I'll pop it on the arm of the chair ready for putting on the next day unless.

Has anyone else found they've got their watch just as they want it but it doesn't actually spend that much time on their wrist?

Something a bit similar happened with a JLC Compressor GMT. The rubber I bought for it was bulky so I wore it less, switched back to leather but realized it really wasn't much less so. You may not like the ending, as I sold it shortly thereafter.

As you know I recently bought my avenger and have yet to find the sweet spot to wear it. It's so top heavy I am just not used to it. Plus I can't wear it low on my wrist like my other watches or it spins around all day. I absolutely love it, but caught myself reaching to take it off and place it on my desk just as you said. But, being afraid of losing it I quickly get the idea out if my head and suck it up. Let's just say I have one strong left hook now ;)

I would go with a black strap.

I had the same problem with a Skyland and found I had it off more than on. I tried a few different types and styles of strap but ultimately I moved it for a model I could wear all day.
Hope you find a combo that works for you, I think an earlier post of wearing a black strap might be a good alternative and swap out the blue when you want. Just an idea.
Good luck, Frank.

Personally, if I felt that I had to set the watch down continuously throughout the day, then the watch just doesn't work for me. A watch is meant to be worn, not set aside.

I agree. I've had watches that I loved the look of, but for whatever reason just didn't fit my wrist properly. Give it a little time and wear it all the time and see if you get used to it, try different straps, and if after trying different combinations and seeing if you get used to the heft and it still doesn't work, then it might not be the right watch for you.

I got a Sinn 903 - watch I wanted for years. Dial looked so good under magnification and I could put all kind of straps on it and it looked gorgeous. It was very photogenic - uploading pictures of it on the forum made people making like posts one after another. And it was just like Navitimer - having that slide rule that I love and use.

But, it was so bulky on my wrist that I rarely wore it.

I bought some other watches that I wore more often and in the end I ended up swapping 903 for early bi color Breitling Chronomat that was never before on my list. Now I wear the Chronomat for the most time. The watch is so wearable that I can't believe it and it looks so much more better in reality then in pics. It makes me happy :).

Funny you should ask that. Yep, just about very watch I own has this affect on me. I have some down to special use only. Wedding Anniversary, Birthdays, special occasions, cooking watch, yard watch and cleaning the car watch. All warn to a formulae that is appropriate for the particular watch, so I don’t have to worry about wearing them. :)

No, its not OCD. I just value some watches so much I can hardly bear to wear them at all.

I'm of the opinion that watches should be worn, and the only time I remove them is for gym/DIY-type of activities.

That said I personally I find that if I really like a watch, I actually force myself NOT to wear it all the time.

I know that probably sounds bizarre, but I find that "familiarity breeds contempt". OK, maybe not contempt, but once you become overly used to a thing, you start to not really notice it so much : you lose that "new watch appeal stage" when you are very conscious of it, and find yourself looking at all the time. By making sure a new watch very quickly becomes part of a larger rotation, I find I can thoroughly enjoy it every time I put it one, instead of it effectively just becoming "part of the furniture".
