Let the games begin! Thanks Roff for putting in the time and effort to get this going.

I would have nominated the CSO, but I was away for the weekend and missed the poll. I'm glad shark caught that! Good luck to all Breitlings, and may the best one win!

Really? REALLY?? You put my baby up against the Navi 01 and my target Breitling against possibly Fred's best vintage Breitling, at least top 3 or 4? AARRRGH.

Just finished voting.

Wowzers that was pretty tough. I would say tougher than last year.

I'm actually surprised but super excited some of the vintage match ups might get some proper recognition this time. :cheer:

Here's to the old school!

Voting all done!

Thanks for the effort in putting this together Roff. I know it's not a quick job, especially putting in the links to help jog peoples's memories about what model they're actually voting for!

Some tough match-ups in there although the vast majority were pretty much no-brainers for me. That doesn't mean I ended up voting with the masses - far from it on more than a few! - but a lot were very much instant decisions for me.

That said, a few were much tougher.... and the hardest one for me actually turned out to be the Chronomatic 44 vs the Chronomat 01! On the one hand there's the Chronomatic 44 which is one of my favourite Breitling designs of all time, up against the in-house Chronomat that I have developed a serious appreciation for (plus it includes the Frecce Tricolori and Flyfish Fish variants - both of which I absolutely love). Tricky one........

See now I had no difficulties with that one

A little surprised that the Evo is struggling so much against the BB - it's not so long ago that it was seen as the iconic modern Breitling. Can't help thinking that there are also models losing through a lack of familiarity - especially on the vintage side. The original Unitime was hardly given it's due by that abomination of a modern reinvention that Brielting produced, but surprised to see that the original is struggling so much.

I agree on the BB vs Evo battle.... but then the Big Date BB has a very dedicated fan base out there. Like I've said before, the BB is one that I love in pictures, but can't warm to in person.

I think the issue with vintage pieces struggling to hold their own is exactly as you say - limited amount of knowledge.... and I put myself in that camp to a certain extent as well, although certainly appreciate some vintage pieces. I think the likes of the 806 will do well for a while as pretty much every Breitling fan knows the 806, but a vast number of modern buyers shy away from acrylic crystals, reletaively small diameters, and patina. Plus our membership base here is undoubtedly heavily skewed towards modern Breitling ownership. I hoping a few will do well though.

Well that took about 30mins! Had to look at most of the pics provided and found some watches I had no idea existed or looked so good. Really enjoyed that and even more delighted the SA is pumping the Datora

Roll on round 2!

That took a while. Voted a lot of vintage this year WITH ONE EXCEPTION. I'll happily confess to being Don Quixote for the week.
