--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I would like an honest opinion about this model,(Breitling Chrono Avenger Blacksteel Limited Edition) it has the Breitling Super Quartz movement, I hear it a pretty fine movement very accurate, but how would it compare to a automatic movement, can you say one is better than the other?? Can I get some responses as far as tech opinions on this and also the overall brand and look of the watch or any other opinion would be greatly appreciated. I do like it a lot but, I just want to hear your thoughts and opinions on a fine watch level meaning should I make this purchase what general tech, quality, and just the overall thoughts about this model do you all have. Is it worth the coin for a non automatic watch, and is it a respectable fine timepiece, any input positive or negative would be appreciated. Thank in advance guys.

I'm slightly biased as I own the steel/blue version of this watch.

Good points :- The build quality is great, the movement is (not surprisingly) very accurate, good wrist presence and not as drug-dealer as the SA. It's quartz so no need for a winder and you don't have to reset it every few days; it's always right - pick up, put on, go, plus slightly lower service costs.

Bad points :- dial is sometimes tricky to read in certain lights (shouldn't be a problem on the black one), the case & strap do pick up marks easily (might be a problem on the blacksteel case, but the rubberstrap won't suffer the same problems (or if it does it's fairly inexpensive to replace), it's quartz so it won't last forever, you get less choice over how often to service it and may not be repairable/supportable past 2033

If it weren't a quartz I would own this model, only with the red instead of the yellow dial. Even though the quartz movement is extremely accurate I just can't cope with the battery service every 2 or so years. I've found automatic movement to be a lot easier to maintain, but I'm sure you will find others that disagree with me.
That's the reason I went with the blackbird black steel instead of this model.

I must be honest, but I really like this one! It's no secret that I'm no Blacksteel fan, and I'm not really much of a quartz fan either, but something about this watch just works for me. It always has ever since I first saw it.

I like this one. I saw the regular Blacksteel Seawolf LE with the yellow seconds hand at the AD the other day and really like the black/yellow combo (I wasn't the only one as it sold before I left the store). The chrono adds to the sporty look and if I could handle the size :( I would be all over this model.

Nice to have a good quartz piece IMO. Good luck with your decision!

Here's my Blacksteel Avenger - auto not quartz. I think the Avengers wear very well with the rubber straps and mine is very comfortable and has great weight. Not as accurate as a quartz, but so far mine has been well within COSC spec.

Trouble is, for me at least, it's the dial and hands of the quartz one that's screaming "buy me! Buy me!".

Nothing to do with what's under the hood.

Always loved these Blacksteel watches. I personally would rather have the automatic vs. Quartz movement.
