Hi, I'm pretty new to the world of watches but I have a quick question about buying a Breitling. I have been offered a genuine (has been confirmed via jeweller & Breitling) Breitling Chronograph Avenger e73360 for £500. It has a new battery, has a rubber strap and was manufactured pre 2008. Unfortunately the exact date is not known as of yet but the watch is in good/very good condition. Would this price seem a good deal or too expensive? Any input would be appreciated, many thanks in advance! |

Well the E73360 is a Chrono Avenger M1 made between 2002 and 2008. A quick look at Chrono24.com shows the cheapest CA M1 up for £1,459, so yeah, £500 for a genuine M1 (assuming it's working and in reasonable condition, which you say it is) is insanely cheap! I would suggest posting pictures up for us first though as some jewellers have been known to be hoodwinked by reasonable (and also not so reasonable) fakes. £500 is very close to the "too good to be true" territory, so best to make sure it's gen....... |

Agree with Driver. If legit it is a good price, if not then it's £499 too much. |

Agreeing with what the others say really. When I was looking for one of these last year, consensus was that I should be expecting to pay £1200-1500 depending on condition and whether it was a full set or not. If it's legitimate, then £500 is a bit of a bargain. I'd guess at this money that the battery has been replaced by a local shop rather than by Breitling, so I'd not trust the waterproofness. |

Hi all, thanks for the quick replies! The watch was sent off and battery replaced through Breitling, the receipt correlates with this information. I will be sending the watch off 'again' to Breitling for verification before money exchanges hands! On another note, can this strap be replaced with a leather version?? I like the rubber strap but wouldn't mind the possible option of it being leather? |

Yes the rubber strap can be replaced with a leather strap as long as the width matches the lug/inter-horn width. TBH, instead of resending it off to Breitling, just post some pictures of it here. We'll tell you in 5 seconds flat if it's in genuine or not. As noted above, there are no "good" fakes of the M1, so we'll know instantly if it's OK. |

Sounds like you're likely to get a bargain. You've got a wide choice of straps and bracelets to choose from, though if you buy genuine Breitling it may cost you more than you are paying for the watch! |

I wouldn't go quite so far as to say Chrono24 is way way off market, although of course, the prices being asked on there are just that - prices being asked, not what they necessarily actually sell for... but then so are eBay auctions and BINs as well. For prices that things actually sell for you need to check sold items within ebay, but then it all depends on how recently one of those sold. For me Chrono24 provides a guide, and at the low end of the prices ranges being offered, I'd say it's a fairly accurate one. |
