Okay, call me weird, or strange, or just a plain freakazoid, but I have a feeling that I am not all that alone. Sure, you say, speak for yourself  Nevertheless, since getting my first Breitling a few weeks ago, I realized that I have changed my "walk" in an effort to avoid knocking my left arm/wrist into things. No longer do I carelessly flail about  . My watch either "rides" in front of me, in back of me, or in my pocket. I also notice how much more attention I pay to where my left arm and hand go in general.

Is this a permanent affliction, or is this just a virus until my watch gets some "character" scuffs and scratches? Although, I am not how much that will matter because I likely will anxiously await the cape cod treatment to get back to "show room" condition. I am really not this way with anything, but then again, I do not have many prized possessions, and certainly none that rival my Ling :D

It's normal for now. After first scratch initiation you should be fine. :D

I'm a bit more cautious around walls, tables, shopping carts etc. The preservation thing is normal 8)

I actually stated this in a previous post, but when I walking near a wall or anything on my left that could damage the SA I put my arm behind me with the dial touching my butt or hip. Pretty hard to hurt it like that.

yep, I think about it all the time. when I wear long sleeve shirts I like to tuck it down in the shirt; safest place it can be.

Not weird at all. But you get over it, at least I did with one of mine.

My CA is my daily and I hit just about everything with it. I got over the BNIB hang up a long time ago.

I take a little more care with my cosmonaute and seawolf. 8)

Union Station in Toronto has steel handrails at my wrist height - I won't walk on the left hand side now in case my watch knocks against them

 I'm glad we're all of the same mind here! My Steelfish is worn with fractionally less care than my others, but I'm still very careful around walls and metal objects!

Nice to see I am not alone. It is a strange feeling to be so consciously aware of body movement all the time. And, it sort of feels like I just left the psychiatrists office after reading everyone's respones :D . I never thought I needed a support group after buying a watch

Everyone take care and watch that watch :)

You are absolutely, perfectly, 100% normal, my friend. Indeed,
there would be something wrong with you if you didn't wear your
new watch as if it were filled with nitroglycerin! :)

I've had my Steelfish about five months now, and it's finally got
its first tiny blemishes on the bracelet. I'm actually relieved. I can wear it
like a watch now, not a piece of the crown jewels. You, too, will finally realize
you are wearing an instrument that can take a little
abuse and not complain at all. So enjoy.
