I was wondering if I could get some opinions on a Super Avenger with the white dial and silver sub dials as a good "everything" watch? It would have a polished steel bracelet. I am wanting something that I can where with casual, dressy and all colors.

Thanks

I'm not sure that a watch that comes in at over 1/3 lb before you put a strap on it could ever be considered "dressy".

I personally feel it's ok(provided if your wrist can carry out the size) although I feel that a Chronomat or Navi would better fit the bill. Size aside I would feel that SA is more of a rugged looking watch but however because you are matching it with steel bracelet, I don't think it will clash much with different outfits.

I tried on an Avenger and Super Avenger last night, and find myself leaning towards the Super Avenger. I like the size of the Super Avenger, plus they cost the same. I was a little iffy on the white dial with silver sub dials at first, but after looking at it for a while it grew on me! I am posting a pic to show you guys... Poor quality, it was taken with a cell phone and I was wearing both watches. Also, when you say 8" wrist, is that just by taking measuring tape around my wrist? I think my wrist is only 7" around.

There are more versitile watches than the SA, but it's all a matter of your preference. My idea of "dressy" (black tie) may be different than someone elses (Ed Hardy/Tommy Bahama).

I think the SA would stick out like a sore thumb being worn with a nicely tailored suit. For eveything else it's a fun, if not flashy, watch.

yes, take a soft tape/ seamstress tape and measure the wrist circumfrence. i can tell from the pic its not 8". from a WIS (watch idiot savant) opinion the avenger looks perfect on your wrist. not to big, with good wrist presence. i hate it when lugs overhang the wrist.also, it will tend to not be very comfrotable. i would get the avenger.

my wrist looks like your forearm with the super avenger on it , in that pic. lol.

I have an 8" wrist, had a SA, and I'm not sure I'd buy it as an every day watch. I now have a Bentley, which is also large, but works for me because I have a Seawolf too. Just one watch I would probably go 45-46mm, but that's just me.

I think the super avenger looks good on your wrist. The only thing I'd change, however, is that I'd get it on the bracelet. If you want the strap later, it's much cheaper to get than the other way around.

Are the watches in pic both Super Avengers?

They both look good anyway, but as a daily wearer it may become tiresome.
I have an SA and usually wear it on weekends, it's too much with my suit imo.

The black is an Avenger and the White is a Super Avenger... I want a steel bracelet... I might get leather down the road. When I clasped the leather band and walked around with the Super Avenger it felt good. This is my first breitling and "expensive" watch, so I am actually wanting it to grab some attention. When I looked at if up close it seems large, but when I stood away from the mirror it looked perfect and the Avenger seemed smaller than what I am going for. I am getting prices, and will make them put the SA on a steel bracelet, then try it on and go from there. I am pretty solid on the SA, though... I really liked it and so did my wife(always a plus)! A little nervous, but mostly excited!
