Just got an email from my AD that my new Avenger Blacksteel was in and soon to be on its way to me. I am not a fan of blacksteel Breitlings in general, but saw this at an AD several weeks back and tried it on. The fit and finish on it were excellent and I thought the dial layout and red accents were solid. Not too busy like some of the other blacksteel chronos I've seen. This piece looks really nice in person.
The case is comfortable and sits nicely on my relatively small wrist. The rubber strap is a new addition - the Ocean Racer II. I was not a fan of the Ocean Racer with peek a boo holes and I was going to get this on the Diver Pro II strap, but opted for this new one for something different. I like the Diver Pro II strap (not the I or III with Breitling in big raised letters) because of the plain lines and simplicity. But in this case, the raised circles look kind of cool and all the examples so far I've seen had this Ocean Racer II strap and blacksteel pushbutton buckle.
I've had other pieces that were based on the 7750 movement and have never had any issues and still have some older models in the collection that are working fine. So, I'm hoping this piece will be a long-lasting and sturdy addition. I plan to use this exclusively as a water piece when I'm boating, swimming, or at the lake so I'll be interested to see how the blacksteel finish holds up under exposure to water. It won't be a dive watch for me - I have other pieces for that.

yikes, i wouldnt bother "using" that watch for activities. that thing will look like junk. just being honest. people with these watches, bell and ross etc. get them scratched, noticeably, while just casually wearing them and its not an easy or cheap fix. its your watch but im just trying to help you out.

awesome btw

This combo has a "tactical mission" look. To be honest I would prefer this version on a BB, as it would look superb with the big date. But it looks quite nice on the Avenger too. Congrats and wear it in good health
