ok so for a while now i have been really anti Breitling. the brand just seemed to be doing some really wacky stuff and I just couldnt see myself owning anymore.

Today I was just thinking how awesome the Avenger Seawolf is and how i would love to own one, however at 45 mm its just more dial than i want on my wrist. cruising through the breitling site I cam across the avenger 2 GMT and all i can say is WOW. at 43 mm it might just be perfect for me. the water rating is good to 1000 ft which is just as good as my sub and i have never owned a GMT so that might be cool. MSRP on this is 4150 CAD on bracelet. this is seriously looking like a strong possibility for a new watch.

Good job :lingsrock:

Go for it! Here's the reduced sized Avenger 2.

Man, that new Avenger 2 looks awesome - great picture! I do have a question; when did that watch come out? I thought the entire Avenger series wasn't due out until this fall.

Congrats again.

Sergio, really like that dial design, nice!

Can you tell me the thickness and lug length on this new one ? I 've been waiting for someone to pick up one of these.
Thanks. Terry

Terry - I don't have a way to measure the thickness. The reduction in thickness isn't as noticeable as the reduction from 45 to 43; which is very noticeable for me and I love that. It is definitely thinner but not by a whopping amount. Anyone who wants an A2 based solely on a reduction in thickness would be disappointed; but if you want one that's more comfortable to wear and a smaller dial diameter, then you will be pleased.

The lug to lug length appears to be at 50mm - 51mm.

As a side note the new Pro3 bracelet is awful! It feels hollow, cheap, and sounds 'tin-like' similar to the old Rolex bracelets. It's definitely lesser quality in my opinion than a typical Breitling bracelet. Very disappointed with that but I do like the look of the larger center links.

Wow, that sounds bad. Breitling bracelets used to be synonyms of quality, let's hope that this is just a momentary lapse of reason on B's side.

Interesting observation. I'm quite keen to have a look at these myself in the metal, so I'll be sure to check out the clasp. The last thing we need is Breitling lapsing to old tin-foil-style Rolex clasps.

Driver it's not so much the clasp as the bracelet itself. The links feel cheap and have a much different sound that previous Breitling bracelets I've owned and I've had a variety of them.

I don't think the clasp is much different (but it still has the micro adjustment holes on the sides while the newer clasps on 01's do not). I'm very curious to know if Breitling changed their bracelet vendor or if the production process changes; something is definitely different.

Adrian I would recommend you check it out, I think the GMT will look awesome on the DP3.

Thanks for reply Sergio. I will definitely go see one soon. We have a new Breitling AD now that replaced the old one, should be getting stock anytime now.

I will compare it to the new A2 GMT also as that may be a possibility. The bracelet is not an issue as I would put it on the rubber/deployant. Really like the all black dial on yours though.

Thanks. Terry

I wonder if they have gone back to hollow links like early Pro 1s....

I like the 43mm size, the original avenger is just a tad big on my puny wrist. Might have to sell mine and check out the new one instead. That sounds like a real shame though about the regression of the bracelet. I've never owned a Breitling bracelet before that wasn't top notch.

I just called my AD, he said he went to the factory recently and the new bracelets aren't hollow. I'm still not convinced, I took the bracelet off and ill never wear it which annoys me because I like the wider center link. Its also worth mentioning the new bracelets are thinner, maybe that's why it feels lesser quality?

Anyone who goes to check out the new bracelets you gotta feel them unmounted.

yeah i agree that does sound like a shame. i guess rubber and straps could be the alternative. that said though the price points are very reasonable for the whole avenger line so if I had to live with a tin clasp bracelet i could.

great pick up again Serge! :lingsrock:
