I had one of these and really liked it, but being a habitual flipper I traded it for a Grand Seiko Quartz. I sold that and have been through several automatics since then, including a Colt II. Now I just bought a Colt 44 again, in the Stratus Silver dial (which in reality is a beautiful cream/beige color). Why? Well, I want the precision timekeeping of a quartz movement, I want a rubber strap since I jog quite often and like to time my runs, I want a big case and I want a light colored dial. Bearing all that in mind I couldn't think of any other watch that fit those criteria so well. AND I really plan to stop flipping my watches, so this one will be with me for the long haul, and given its 8 year battery life, it will fill that role quite nicely!

Congratulations on the Colt. Only a WIS can understand flipping a watch and then later buying it back. Nothing wrong with Quartz in my opinion. How does the watch look on your wrist? I'm sure it feels great on the rubber.

Excellent choice and that dial color is really cool. Oh, and good luck with stopping flipping. It'll never happen. :)

I've had 5 Steelfish and they only come in three dial colors. Yeah, I can't relate at all.

I can't even count the number of times that I have bought the same model that I had sold before. Even now, I am wearing a CA Sixty-Nine; same as one that I sold several years ago...missed it too much and hunted for another for three years. My wife is pretty much resigned to this by now...

Jim,
when you're ready to part with that CA 69, please let me know. Funny, I bought that CA M-1 from you, sold it later, and bought it back a year later. Crazy this hobby is.....

Personally not too keen on quartz, especially if it comes with a disposable battery (as opposed to rechargeable cell like some Seiko and Citizen movements).

I do admit it looks absolutely gorgeous though, love it!
