I couldn't decide on the change so I figurd I'd just buy it... Sorry

I understand the the BB is a completely different movement than the CE but I did notice the follow that I thought may be strange...

1) the unscrewing of the crown is different. Meaning, I do not have the typical clicking noise until it pops out completely. AND, it take about a quarter of the winds when comparing to my CE before finally popping out to the winding stage. Is this normal?

2) if I were to "shake" my wrist (which lets b honest, we've all done) to feel the weight sway, I can not feel anything unlike my CE. Is th normal as well.

Once again, I understand that they are different movements, but since the cases are practically identical it is weird to me that they behave rather differently.

My BB operates the same.... no clicking on the unscrew and I never feel/hear the weight either.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! :lingsrock:

Don't get me wrong, I no longer think something maybe wrong, but I'm curious to know WHY? I feel like the crowns functioning is much smoother on the CE.

Could be any number of reasons - the middle case is different between the CE and the BB being the most obvious (has to be different because of different pusher locations from a modular vs. integrated chronograph) and the base movement for the BB is also smaller in diameter requiring a different movement ring which may also affect the operation of the crown / crown stem.

Thanks Roff.

I have had the pleasure of many Breitling watches, the BlackBird is different to most.

I think yours was the first although, I understand, there is now another BB+ in existence.

Thanks Gav, proud to say first of a kind.

To MrC, to me the BB really felt like a step up for all the reasons you mention.

A great watch and for me a keeper.

Big congrats. The Blackbird is one of the finest Breitlings in the past 10 years IMHO. You can't beat the satin finished faceted bracelet. Perfect. Too bad it's discontinued. Wear it in good health for many years to come.

Cheers,

Don

I flipped mine, went back to my grey dial CE. I did lift the BB bracelet though before flipping, it got sold on leather.

I still like the BB though.

Never been my own favourite but that black on brown-croco really pulled me up - lovely.

Best Breitling ever made IMHO, came close to selling my BB recently, so glad I didn't, this watch has the significantly better Lume than any other Breitling, a stunning dial and I particularly love the way it looks superb on so many different strap combinations as can be demonstrated in this thread with that stunning Brown Croco combination.
