Only the mechanical cousin. The Skyracer. Same watch different movement. Yes, the bezel is replaceable, if it’s damaged to the point of marring the watch. Depends on what model you are talking about, as far as durability goes though.

I have the previous stainless steel version, which I personally prefer over the later rubber moulded version. It ‘makes’ the piece IMHO. I received mine with a few small scratches, which were easily buffed out. They were so light, I was very lucky (it was a second hand watch) and they came out easily. Thought it would be a wearing hazard, as I am a clumsy sort of person, but so far so good.

They are a remarkably resolved design, compact but with a real boy racer and leather flying jacket demeanour. Chuck Yeager imagery, all that sort of thing. Not sure about the rubber, but some say they love the look.

Which one is yours? Post some pics.

Jim,

I don't have one (yet?), but I am tempted. I particularly like the look of the Airwolf Raven on the Pro Diver II. It's got me scratching my chin for sure...

Hi SCD,

Yes, they are a great watch. Real Aviators stuff. The Airwolf is a great model and its a split for me on either a mech or quartz movement. Either way they are well sorted. I chose the SkyRacer for the movement, but thats just me. 8)

The slightly smaller size is not noticable on the wrist either. Amazing really, as most other watches of this size, look their size. This one does not. The sunray dial in silver on the SkyRacer is particularily fine. It remains my beloveds most favourite Breitling that I have. The rest do nothing for her, but this one is different. She says it catches her eye like the others do not.... :wowzers

I believe they have pulled the SkyRacer from the line up this year, which is a pity. So go for it, be tempted. You won't regret it. :lingsrock:

I don't have any first-hand experience of rubber bezels as I'm just not a fan of them, BUT assuming they're made of the same type of rubber as car tyres I'd imagine they'd be pretty durable. Obviously they're going to be more susceptible to cutting than a steel bezel, but I should imagine (again if they're made of car tyre type of rubber) the resistance to abrasion should be pretty high.
