Things are goin great out here, but they aren't giving very good discounts on the B's here, that's for sure. So far I would say that you should stick to buying from local AD's.

I got some videos for you guys when I get back, and some infos and things. They wouldn't let me take pictures of their display cases though at Little Switzerland.

I got some pictures of some Zenith's I tried on however, and a nice Cvstos. Wow those are nice watches.

Anyway, I'm in an internet cafe in St. Maarten so i'm not going to chat too long.

Admin,
Just out of curiosity, if you were in St Maarten today, are you on the cruise ship Caribbean Princess? If so, this means you will be in St Thomas tomorrow, I will explain later, if your not just ignore this, thanks, Bob.

I called Little Switzerland recently to check their pricing on a Navitimer World (steel bracelet) and I was not impressed. I'm flying down to Curacao in a couple of weeks and was looking forward to doing some shopping until I called them.

As for St. Maarten, it's a wonderful island. Beautiful beaches, good diving, and great food..

Enjoy your trip, and have a safe journey home.

Flynbyu,

This perhaps might be due to the recent reduction in prices or at least that is the case here in Canada. Last year while in Jamaica I noticed that there was a significant different in prices upwards to $800-900 compared to the prices here in Canada. As I was thinking about going back to Jamaica this year I inquired with my local AD and was told that Breitling wanted to align their prices so they reduced the prices approx. $1000 to bring them more in line with the Caribbean and US. (I assume Breitling Canada was losing business because people where buying watches abroad) After having this conversation with th AD I called a AD in Jamaica to get prices and confirmed that the difference between Canada and Jamaica is well under $100.

Admin,

Welcome home, my wife and I take that exact cruise twice a year. Two things, first, did you happen to venture into TRIDENT JEWELERS in ST. Thomas? If so what do you think about their selection. Second, did you happen to notice all the fakes in ST. Maarten. About 3 years ago they were very good quality but as of recently, crap, crap, crap! So spill it what did you buy, I can never come home empty handed.

Bob-

p.s. Does this view look familiar? Image

I saw Trident, but I cannot remember if I went into it. What brands did they carry?

Several Diamonds International stores across the Caribbean.....I purchased a ring for my wife there on a week long stay to St. Thomas a few years ago. Three locations there, one at the resort we stayed at, the Wyndam Sugar Bay. I also did some shopping at the location in St. Lucia near the Harbor, across the way from Vigie Airport. DI was a limited on the brands of watches they carried at the locations I visited.

Diamonds International carries a heck of a lot of brands. Most of the locations did not carry Breitling however.. The only jewelry I ended up buying was stuff from Tiffany & Co for my girlfriend and something for my mom. I did not end up buying anything...

Bahamabob.. i remember that view, from the back of the boat!

I shopped Diamonds International before I bought my wife's Cartier Roadster. I wound up buying it from Stein Diamonds in Beverly Hills for a little less which I'm glad I did just in case I have to send it in for repair. D.I. does have nice items, but I guess they were just a bit limited at the locations I shopped. I know my wife loves her diamond ring purchased there. I came really close to buying a Mont Blanc TimeWalker in Castries, St. Lucia, but I just didn't know enough about the watch!

Post subject:  Trident Jewelers

Admin,

Trident is probably carries the most luxurious brands on the island. Franck Muller, Zenith, Glycine, Nardin, Kunz, Genta and some Officina Del Tempo. Also, A.H. Rise on the backside also carries a good supply of Breitling, usually more than Little Switzerland, and they won't talk your ear off.

The store that I saw that carried the most expensive brands was a place that sold Roger Dubuis and some other stuff... had all these Watch Books on a bookshelf on the wall too.. can't remember the name of the place damnit! :(

It was on that Front street there ... a bit further down than Cardow on the right hand side.
