Hi All,

Please find below a link to a reivew of the much maligned SuperOcean M2000.

As always I would appreciate any constructive feedback.

I'll also be interested to hear your opinions on this polarising watch.

Cheers,

Rick.

I do appreciate the review, Ricardo, and the open discussion of your evolved appreciation of the watch. Technically, though, and maybe I'm missing something or scanned it too quick, I have one question: If the point of the watch is to perform split seconds or other chronograph timing at great depth, why are only the hour and minute markers lumed? I'm at a complete loss on this.

Another great review Richard, although I probably wouldn’t buy one myself. At 4 grand though, I reckon the second hand prices of the Chrono Avenger M1 will be increasing as it seems to have much the same function with just over half the weight. (And it's a lot better Looking !)

I only have a strong dislike for the red sub version. The other colors are not bad. I would like a yellow...

Nice review Recardo (as always). I just don't find it a remotely attractive watch, and the price is barking!

The previous models that utilised the B73 movement - the Seawolf Chrono and the M1 - just looked inifinitely nicer IMO. The only thing the M2000 has got going for it is a black datewheel!

Looks cool. I like it in red or green as well, sight unseen.

Great Review. Like the GREEN best but more than I would pay.

I agree that it is a little remiss.

I'm no diver but I assume you loose visibility quite quickly on a dive. Recreational divers only go to about 30 meters. Would you be able to read the subdials in these conditions?

Thank You for Your kind words.

Looks are subjective, of course, but I agree that £2000 is always going to look better than £4000.

You and your "black datewheels"

Thank You (as always) for you kind words.

Nice review! But isn't it a bit of an inconsequent effort? After all, it is supposed to be a dive Chrono that can actually be used deep down under water, but none of the Chrono-hands have lume on them. The 12 o'clock position is t marked by a lume blob either.

To me it all looks a bit "look what we can do, we needed an excuse to come out with a novelty and developed something no one will ever really use, but its cool, look!".

Thank You all for Your generous words about the review and photos.

I think we can safely say that this has not been one of Breitling's most welcomed of timepieces. The epitome of the polarising watch.

I agree with everyone that it is overpriced compared to similar models from the past.

Only you will know if you are prepared to pay the £1500 premium for a brand new watch with the magnetic pushpieces.

Cheers,

Richard.
