Post subject:  Registering my Breitling

Just bought a super avenger from a UK AD. Can I register my watch with Breitling? Also my COSC certificate says avenger and not super avenger. Is this normal ?

You can't register your watch, only Emergencies get registered. The stickers on the COSC are new, but as long as the serial numbers match up you are fine.

We've spoke before so you know how much I over think things. So I can clear my mind of the fact I might have the COSC certificate for another Avenger? Also do you mean the number on the certificate and on the watch? If so, where on the watch ?

The printed numbers (not the punched ones) on the COSC, warranty booklet and caseback of the watch should match. If they do then you have the correct paperwork.

So I done what you said, the Serial numbe on the watch case matches the sticker on the COSC and the warranty book, but in the warranty book it has just been written in by the shop worker and on the COSC it is just a sticker. Is there nothing printed that has the serial number apart from on the watch ?

It's fine - your papers match your watch and nothing is wrong!

To answer your original question about registration.

Call 0207-636-5200 (Breitling UK) and tell them you have purchased a new watch from an AD and would like a registration card, as yours did not come with one. They will only require an address to send it to. Sometimes the AD will fill the card out for you, in my case for my first purchase, Goldsmiths did this for me and my hat turned up out of the blue. My second purchase the AD told me they didn't register watches for the customer, and the watch did not come with a registration card. After calling BUK, I was sent the card and returned it, only to receive another hat a few days later.

That's not actually a registration for the watch. It's an unpublicised version of what BUSA does in the US - just a distributor thing to get info for the hat. Breitling never registers the watch, just BUK maintaining records for their own purposes.
