Hey everyone, as some of you may know I was in the market for a Breitling Superocean 42 with the yellow inner flange. Just received it and love it! The quality, fit and finish are superb! I do have a question about the timing though. I know this watch is a chronometer and certified for +6/-4 seconds per day. The last few days I have been timing it and it seems to be anywhere from 7-9 seconds fast after a 24 hour period. Should I take it to get regulated? (Does a Breitling dealer do this? I did not purchase the watch from a dealer) Also, I have read that a lot of Breitlings read fast after the first month but then tend to slow down within the month, is this true? Also, I noticed a foreign 'speck' of dust or some sort of debris on the seconds hand - would a dealer be able to remove this also? |

Watches will settle after a few weeks of regular wear, you definitely don't want to get it regulated before then. Also, if you don't already, leave it crown up at night and it will tend to run a little slower. An AD with a watchmaker can regulate the watch, though may charge if you didn't buy from them, dirt or dust inside should also be able to be done by an AD with a watchmaker. |

Roff is correct. I have the same one, and it settled down after a couple months. |

Even if it settles at 7-9 seconds per day I'd leave it alone. No sense in opening the case for that, unless that spec of dust is very noticeable. Enjoy your watch! |
