I like the first sentence, a lot, but the rest is kinda arrogant, and sheds some light on Breitling's direction IMO. Sorry Fear, not a fan of that mission statement at all. I actually take it as a slap in the face; they're basically saying that they make watches for wannabe's who will settle for fast cars and hot women; they should be more focused on making watches for people who appreciate aeronautics rather than people who want to be flashy. This is actually pissing me off now.

Yet more bizarre Breitling marketing that demonstrates a complete lack of awareness of their buyers. So much for Instruments for Professionals.

I find the poster odd and arrogant, would make me ashamed of owning the brand if that was their goal......

Maybe it's supposed to attract the kind of "real man", who buys a watch solely for it's huge wrist presence and incredible bling. Or something like that.

Posters and words like that always have the opposite effect on me, to what is intended. I was actually starting to get quite interested in a couple of new Breitling offerings, thinking that I might go back.

And speaking of the opposite appeal: You get the description of the new 38mm Transocean Chrono advertised as a Ladies watch. That would be equally off-putting to many people as well.

The stigma attached to the watches because of that poster gives me the impression that I would never be caught dead wearing a Breitling!

Cheers,
Carl

Between the poster and Ricardo's Breitling party post, I don't know what to think... but it isn't too positive regarding Breitling right now  .

This poster poses a serious threat to my Breitling collection.
I'm not a pilot, Mrs Wessa knows I would love to fly fighter jets but it ain't gonna happen so fast cars is the only alternative but she certainly does not need to know about the "beautiful women" bit!!!

I like the poster. I did fly jets. I like the playful attitude. I also don't take the ad that seriously. BTW, Tiger Woods being any Brand's ambassador is in a different world of FU'd than this ad.

I have a more appropriate ad for them:

"We used to make watches for pilots who wore them as a badge of honor, and for professionals as precision instruments; now we make them for all the rugged wannabe's who prefer flash over finish, bling over quality, and would prefer to seduce women by acting as some they are not. And that's a lot of people. Enough said."
