I'm not sure what game you are trying to play here, but I'm calling you on it.

You tried to sell a Breitling Chronomat LE Lancaster and I contacted you expressing interest and suggesting that your price was way too high. You went away and listed it on eBay at less than you offered it to me and it didn't sell. You then listed it again here and I made you an offer that you felt was way too low - I pointed out that the watch had never been serviced and should be due for at least its second service by now.

You then marked the watch as sold and have since started sending me PMs to other LEs priced (but not selling) at prices lower than you were asking, but closer to your price than my offer. I asked you to stop PMing me and said that I didn't know why you were continuing to contact me as your watch had sold.

On the weekend you PMed me again with details of another watch and I just ignored the PM, so now you post a WTB at a price higher than I offered for the watch that you just sold. Now you are starting this new thread asking whether you should increase your offer.

Let me be clear to everyone. I had been looking for a Chronomat Lancaster for some time because my father was Word War II Lancaster air crew and I wanted him to have the watch. He has now passed on so the immediate drive for me is less. One day I will own an example of the LE but there is no hurry and one thing that I learned a long time ago in buying watches is to first buy the seller. I never forget that.

In terms of your specific question about whether you should offer more, I am unaware of any active member of the site with an example to sell, but there is no requirement for you to offer any specific price publicly, only sellers need to state a price. Clearly you believe that the watch is worth far more than the GBP1,000 that you offered, and from your statements previously you have paid more than twice that price for an example in the past. My only recommendation would be to factor the service history into your purchase, it has a big impact on value, and to check Chrono24 where there are plenty of LE Chronomats and completed eBay auctions to get some idea of fair market value - same advice that I gave you when you were selling.

edit - just to add I have no intention of entering into a debate on the subject so this will be my only post in this thread.
