Just wondering how many seconds per day your Breitling watch loses or gains per day. I have a new colt II and it is losing about 10 sec per day. I know it takes some time for the watch to settle in. Do certified chronometer watches have a break in period. It seems they would have to be regulated and broken in prior to the COSC testing in order to pass.
So, how much does yours gain or lose?

It's recommended to give you watch a bit of time to settle down after you buy it and for it to "get used" to how you wear it. A couple of weeks or so should do it. If after that it's still losing 10 seconds a day then take it back to your AD for regulation as it would be outside of COSC tolerance.

All of mine tend to gain about 2 or 3 seconds a day, with the exception of my Steelfish which loses a regular 5 seconds a day. I plan to get that regulated soon as it is only just outside of COSC specification, but if anything I prefer them to run fractionally fast rather than slow for 2 reasons. Firstly it's easier just to stop the second hand for a couple of seconds to adjust a fast watch, rather than having to move the hands to catch up on a slow watch, and secondly if a watch is fast it means you're never late to meetings!

My skyland runs about 2-4 sec. fast. My steelfish ran about 4-7 sec. fast. My colt was within a couple of sec fast.

10 sec slow is way unacceptable to me. Id give it break in time as well, but no more than a couple of weeks. I doubt its gonna deviate too much from what you have now, but you never know.

Yes I agree, 10 sec is to much. I will give it sometime, I'm sure it will get better. Would the warranty cover the adjustment needed?

Definitely covered by warranty.

Your watch is certified to be -4 to +6 seconds a day!

:yeahthat
Both of my chronometer-certified watches are well within those specs. I set them both about a week ago, the Steelfish is now about +20sec and the Omega is about +15sec.

I normally don't check upon my watches that often, but when I have checked them they've been well within COSC specs.

You should definitely take your watch to your AD for regulation. It should be free of charge and if the AD isn't too busy they should be able to test/regulate the watch right there.
