I was just at my local breitling store. I was chatting it up with the woman while waiting for the manager to find my strap in the back. I asked her about her watch and she said they give you a watch when you get hired. Does any one know about this?

I seriously doubt that. Perhaps they give you one to borrow while on the job?

That's what I thought too, I asked her if she just gets to wear one while at work. She said nope it's mine. Not sure if I believe it either. That's why I put up this post. Thought with this wealth of knowledge at my fingertips some one would be able to answer. Cause if that is the case I'm filling out a app tomorrow.

Could be they give it to her at cost? Car dealers do the same thing. Could be only sales people. Obviously the person selling you a breitling better be wearing one!

Never rule out the possibility of ... Ahem ... "Special job duties."

At the Breitling service centre in the uk they get a watch for free but they have to
Work for them for so long. Also. At AP factory they get a watch but they have to stay for 12 years
Before they can keep it.

I don't believe it is a general practice.
There is always a story behind a story. It could quite possibly be a case where the sales lady in question is a relative, close friend or a special friend ;-)

Coming from a guy who owns his own business there is no way in hell I would give them watches. Now what I would do is have a case in the back where watches could be worn during work and at the end of the shift the watch is returned and repeat every day that process.

Can you imagine when the employee just uip and quits or doesnt show up anymore, goodluck getting that watch back cause now they are gonna say it was a "gift".

The manager at my favorite AD gets a personal Breitling every so many # of sales. The gal who works at another AD told me she gets to buy one at cost once per year. Depends on the AD and hierarchy I guess.

It sounded like a bunch of BS to me. This store just opened about a month or so ago and she worked at TAG before that. A Monty with a B01 as a gift or perk after a month of employment. I'm going to get to the bottom of this, I don't like being lied to, especially by someone who represents a company I have given tens of thousands of dollars to.

When I was an employee at the local BMW dealership they leased me a brand new sport package Z4 for $150 a month for two years. There are incentives out there for employees so anything is possible.

Absolutely, companies give incentives to employees. The bigger and better the co. the better the incentive. I just find it hard to believe that someone that has only been with them for a few months would revive a $8,000 watch as a gift.
