I was checking out Sinn watches and saw this Navitimer lookalike. Wth? I thought Sinn had their own style. Is it just a homage?

Sorry for the link. I didn't want to copy someone else's picture.

During Breitling's 1979 bankruptcy, Sinn bought the rights to the Navi 806 and 809 dial layouts. They have had their own Navi variant ever since.

This is a weird one we were talking about on the vintage forum.

Cool story. I was shocked when I saw the one above for the first time. I also didn't realize Sinn had such a long history.

What an up and down roller coaster on Mr. Sinn.

Is the pricing on the Sinn models less than Breitling?

Sinns are less expensive, though a pre-owned Navi might not be much more than a new Sinn. Watchbuys is the US dealer for Sinn. Check out their website. Their "Navitimer" is listed for, I think, a little over $3K, but check to make sure. I saw a pre-owned on strap recently with asking price of $2K. I bought an Arktis from Watchbuys a couple years ago. Nice people.

There are some comparison reviews out there, and some differences between the watches. The last Sinn I saw had a mostly brushed case, and polished-brushed bracelet. I think the bezel is internally adjusted by a separate crown at 10 o'clock., and I think they also advertise superior water resistance. Don't know what grade of Valjoux 7750 they use.
