I have always purchased a watch with a chronograph but in todays world where almost everyone has a smart phone on hand or access to a small timing device-- for those who own a watch with a chronograph -- how often do you actually use it? Now that i am in the market for a new watch I sometimes wonder if i really need the chronograph.

Most of my watches are chronographs.
This does not mean that I "need" a chronograph. More like "want" simply because I like the look of a chrono watch.
As such it is rare that I use the chrono for any other purpose than just to let it run for a day about once a month to ensure it stays well lubricated.

I think Breitling guys are often drawn to the brand because we like the look of Chronographs.

I also love the look of chronographs, and only use it to time cooking, parking meters, or when I'm flying somewhere on vacation, etc.

In the original post, I meant to ask how many actually just like the look... I guess Wessa and Novacastran made that clear. dlNYC -- -really does seem to use it... so at least one.

I use mine everyday, but it is never for anything of any importance. Drive time to work, lunch break, and dog walk time are some of the innocuous things i use my chrono for

I can guarantee that for pilots and Navitimers.

I use the chrono for timing various types of flight segments, client phone calls, etc.

Didn't we have a thread on this a while back?

Daily. Sometimes 20+ times a day. My first Breitling didn't have a chronograph and I really missed it, so I wound up getting two Breitlings with chronographs.

Every two days when I frequent the gym. Between sets, I like to take 90 second breaks.

Healthy body, healthy mind. :lingsrock:

It's one of those threads that comes around every few months regular as COSC certified clockwork.

Use mine on occasions for unimportant things like steaks.

I found that one when I searched, but it's not the one I was thinking of. I swear that sharkman and I posted in a thread on this topic, but I'm not finding it.

I did a search but was focusing on the chronograph function and missed this one.. Oh well as implied re-calibration of a topic not always bad
